Network Marketing Recruiting Secrets Revealed

In this article, we’re going to cover how you can maximize your network marketing recruiting efforts while dramatically increasing the retention rate and overall performance of your downline. I am not going to sell you on anything whatsoever. I am not going to attempt to convince you to join my opportunity and I am not going to hold anything back on what you need to do to be successful. This information is my gift to you with absolutely no strings attached. Why I am giving this information away for free? My satisfaction comes from knowing that I have made a difference in the lives of people that are struggling with a home-based business opportunity and I know how that feels. It also means that my chosen industry of network marketing will continue to be respected as a viable and logical alternative to conventional business and employment.

As you find yourself understanding the principles I’m going to outline, you’re going to have a clearer picture of exactly what you need to do to make it to the top of your company’s compensation plan. Many of these secrets will doubtlessly be very scary to some people. However, if you’re the kind of person who is ready for success, you’re going to benefit from this information by leaps and bounds.

The cornerstone secret to recruiting for your network marketing opportunity is integrity. As obvious as this sounds, there is much more to it. When a person is recruiting for their network marketing opportunity they don’t set out to give their prospects the wrong idea of what network marketing is (I least I hope they don’t) but what sometimes ends up happening, is that their level of excitement coupled with a misunderstanding of what network marketing is and is not, ends up leading their new independent representatives down the wrong road. This leads to frustration and ultimately ends with a collapse of their downline. With the knowledge I’m going to give here, you’ll be able to avoid this unforeseen pitfall.

I have been hugely successful in network marketing, but it took many trials and errors before discovering how to succeed in this lucrative business, as well as how to keep people in my downline and help them succeed. In one opportunity I was able to recruit at least one person a day starting from day one, but I found that they would soon fall off out of abject frustration that they were not able to produce the results I was able to. At the time, I didn’t clearly understand what I was doing wrong but over the years the secrets to network marketing success have slowly been revealed to me.

What can you do to make sure that when you’re out recruiting for your network marketing opportunity that people will stay involved and that you’ll be successful? You must understand exactly what network marketing is and who actually makes it to the top of your company’s compensation plan.

Here are the secrets that you’ll need to know and that you’ll want to cover with your current downline and future prospects:

Network marketing is neither a job nor a get rich quick pyramid scheme. This may seem like a no-brainer like many of the other secrets I’ll be going over, but bare with me and I’ll explain the reason why this fact can be so deeply forgotten or misunderstood that the obvious becomes hidden. Understand that most people-even after they’ve heard your presentation about starting a home-based business-still may not fully understand what huge differences rest between a home-based business and a job. People who enter your organization who are stuck on job-think will have put forth the investment to get started and yet they mistake the independent representative application with a time-sheet for clocking in to work. At many jobs, you clock in and regardless of whether you do anything or not you will still get paid (so long as you’re not caught slacking off too much). When a person is running their own business they will make absolutely nothing unless they market their business. Once you grow your residual income and the momentum of your downline, then you can relax…and do it quite comfortably! However, initially it’s going to mean working hard…very hard. You’ve probably noticed the strange phenomenon that almost every single network marketing company has someone somewhere complaining that that particular company is a scam, yet your company probably has outstanding products or services and they probably have oceans of people who are making money and who are excited about being involved. Pyramid schemes are illegal, and if a company is found to be a pyramid scheme it is quickly shutdown by the government. So why do some people seem so unhappy with network marketing? This is the secret that fast food companies, recliner chair manufactures, air conditioning manufacturers and insurance salesman figured out. The average person wants satisfaction right now. The average person will always opt for the most relaxing position in life. The average person doesn’t want to sweat and the average person wants to be assured that so long as they keep doing the same thing every month, the money will be there. Unfortunately, if a person has not been properly informed about what it really means to own their own home business, they will likely give up and join the naysayers. To be successful in network marketing a person must be patient as they work each day to build toward their success. They must be willing to step outside of their comfort zone. They must be willing to sweat a little by taking a chance on their own self-determination and they must realize that the size of their network marketing paycheck hinges not upon clocking in, but the courage to face down every rejection while moving with excitement and urgency toward the manifestation of their dreams. Yes, it is hard work. However, the upside to network marketing recruiting is that if you’ve been trained by a quality company, or upline leader in your opportunity, you’ll find that working hard in your network marketing opportunity can be fun and exciting.

Network marketing success hinges upon hard work. A person cannot buy their way to top of a network marketing opportunity, it must be earned. Yes, it is possible to make it to the top of your company’s network marketing compensation plan by simply buying every prospect that you talk to a starter kit out of your own pocket and paying for all their customers (which would take a whole lot of money and very little work), but even if a person has that kind of money to waste, they’d find that their downline would collapse. The absolute only way anyone every makes it to the top of a network marketing opportunity and sustains and continues to grow their massive downline is by making a commitment to do network marketing recruiting the right way and by nurturing their downline. Nurturing your downline means being available to help them grow their own organizations. Recruiting the right way means putting your nose to the grindstone; putting your best foot forward to attract and present your opportunity to the right people, and never, ever, ever letting up on your success. If I told you I’d hire you for a job and that it entails working extremely hard almost every day of every month and that your reward will be to that get to work like a dog for many, many more years to come, would you take the job? Most people have agreed to that. Would it scare you if I told you that you’re going to have to work extremely hard over the next year to four years in your network marketing opportunity, but your reward will be that you’ll be able to walk away from your job, would you stick with your opportunity? If you answered “yes”, then lets proceed…because you already possess the characteristics that are at the nucleus of what makes top producers tick (courage and self-determination).

Network marketing recruiting takes a highly-motivated and disciplined personality. This means that a person must have the discipline to monitor their level of motivation and if they ever find themselves falling below optimum levels of excitement, they will immediately do whatever is necessary to change course. That could mean taking the time to watch your company’s opportunity videos again and again everyday, so that you’ll have a fresh feeling of excitement and be motivated to make it happen. It could mean making a “success collage” created out of pictures of the places you want to go, the kind of house you’d like to live in or the kind of car you’d like to drive. It could mean calling up your upline leaders for some uplifting advice. It could mean consistently listening to motivational speakers, playing their audios at home and in the car or watching their videos on YouTube. To reach your success goals you must be motivated. To be motivated you must be excited to make it happen. Excitement is contagious, and it’s the single most powerful ingredient for network marketing recruiting success.

Network marketing is not a pyramid scheme. People at the top of a network marketing organization do not necessarily make lots of money. What? Bare with me because this is another secret that might sound scary to some people but as I explain it you’re going to begin to understand exactly why you should be excited about this simple fact. Here’s how it works: If Alfred recruits Bob and Bob recruits Cassandra, we can imagine them in a straight line from top to bottom (A, B, C) with Alfred standing at the top of the organization, Bob standing on the level below him, and Cassandra last. Alfred goes wild, puts his nose to the grindstone and makes things happen. Cassandra is off the charts with her network marketing recruiting efforts; she’s always excited to talk to people about her opportunity and ends up building a massive organization. If we’d look back at Alfred, whose standing at the top, we’d see a massive organization below him due to his own efforts and multiplied by Cassandra’s diligence and hard work…but what about Bob? Bob only recruited Cassandra, he decided he’d stay involved because he loved the products and services, but he didn’t get promoted to any kind of prestigious title in the opportunity’s compensation plan. Why? Because network marketing isn’t a pyramid scheme and it isn’t a job. In a true network marketing company you can have someone above you who makes less money than you do. The percentages and bonuses you earn in a true network marketing opportunity are based upon your earned position. The keyword here is “earned”. If a person does not acquire the customers or independent representatives that they need to quality for their opportunity’s higher earned position they’ll earn a bit more money from the efforts of someone like Cassandra, but it will be pennies compared to what Cassandra earns herself. Yes, Bob is at the top of the huge organization but it’s Alfred and Cassandra who are making the real money, and rightfully so. In a conventional business, whether large or small, a person’s job position in the corporate pyramid linearly dictates how much money they make. In almost every case, in a corporation, the people at the top make the big bucks and the people at the bottom make much, much, much less. Network marketing rewards the people who are hungry for success regardless of where they are located in the organization’s structure. Think about that.

You have to talk to people. This one also seems completely obvious and because of that I never saw it as something I had to point out in my early days of network marketing. Due to leaving this out, many people in my downline would complain that they weren’t making any money. I couldn’t understand what was happening, but now I can share this with you: To be successful in network marketing you have to be willing to talk to people and share your opportunity in as many different ways as you can possibly think of. Have you put the link to your opportunity website in your email signature? Have you sent a short, gentle but excited announcement to every person you can think of, informing them that your home business is open for business? Have you made a YouTube video proudly and excitedly talking about all the neat stuff about your opportunity’s products or services? Do you have the courage to give a brochure or a DVD to a complete stranger? Make a commitment right now to inform your downline that to be successful in their own home-based business they must let as many people as possible know that they’re in business. Reveal to people that the secret to making money in network marketing is talking, and those who keep on talking are the ones who make it to the top.

The average person will not get rich with network marketing. This fact sounds pretty depressing when you first read it, but let me ask you: Do you consider yourself an average person? I can already answer that question. No, you are not an average person because if you were, you wouldn’t be reading this. An above average person is willing to take the time to invest in themselves and you’ve invested in yourself by seeking out knowledge that you can use to propel your business forward. Read this network marketing recruiting secret again and realize that it doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not you are going to be hugely successful in network marketing. You must refuse to be average. You must refuse to back down or give up. The average person is not self-motivated or excited about putting in hard work even if it means literally changing the future history of their family tree. Therefore, yes, it is an absolute fact that the average person in network marketing will only make a little money or no money at all. The average person doesn’t have anything to do with you or what you are capable of. You have made it this far. I have gut-checked you over and over, and you’ve made it this far. Are you going to give up or are you going to take the bull by the horns and prove that I am right when I say that you are not just another average person, but an above average success story in the making?

You must not be afraid to sell. A person must have no fear of the word “salesman” and no dread of the concept of “selling”. There are life-saving devices in hospitals because a salesman had the courage to stand by his product. If you know someone whose life was saved by a defibrillator, thank the doctor, nurse or paramedic…and don’t forget the salesman who sold their hospital the unit. If someone asks, “Are you trying to sell me something,” respond with excitement, “You bet I am…and you absolutely have to take a look at this!” Salesman are the highest paid people in the world. Why anyone would not want to be a salesman beats me. However, in network marketing you are selling your products or services but you are marketing your business opportunity. Successful network marketing recruiting means knowing the difference between these two areas of your business.

Successful network marketing recruiting doesn’t mean chasing people. Now that we’ve moved beyond the word “salesman” we can get to the pinnacle of network marketing recruiting secrets. In terms of getting people to sign up for an opportunity, a person must understand that successful network marketers do not sell people on an opportunity. You sell people products or services and selling them on a product or service means that you might need to convince them that it is superior to the competition or that it is otherwise something that will enrich their lives. Successful network marketers do not sell people network marketing opportunities, they market them. Marketing means inviting and inviting means we’re giving out invitations. An invitation, although it can certainly be an open invitation, typically means that a person has been assessed and selected to participate in an event or organization. I have absolutely no interest in chasing anybody to do anything. I will invite them. I will market my opportunity by letting as many people as possible know that the opportunity is here; that it exists, but it’s up to them to accept or reject the invitation. To be successful in network marketing a person must grow an awareness of the existence of their opportunity and let people make up their own minds. Almost everyone I had to convince to make an investment in themselves didn’t make any money no matter how much I tried to help them. I found myself not wanting to help them because they were so negative and required too much of my energy to motivate. On the other hand, those who are invited to watch a DVD, invited to listen to a business opportunity briefing or invited to click on a link, and who decide to get involved, are the people you will want to help make it to the top with you…and they are the ones who are going to help you get it to the top!

I’ve given you the knowledge that I wish I had years ago. Now it’s up to you to dig down deep within yourself and find the courage to make it happen.

Developing Your Network Marketing Strategy

Here’s a very sobering statistic for you. 97% of network marketers, who attempt some form of network marketing business, where down-lines are your gravy train, fail in short order because they either cannot successfully build their down-line or they build a very weak down-line. Let’s call them the “97 percenters.” They quickly come and go in the business, with many of them turning to bad-mouthing the industry because they failed miserably, thinking they gave it a valiant effort, and it just didn’t work – heck after-all, it wasn’t their fault.

Well, there are a few things going on here that many who understand the industry can easily explain. Since I was one of those “97 percenters” for a two to three-year span, I can empathize with them. However, rather than outright quitting after only a half-hearted attempt, I persisted, even though I kept making the same mistakes over and over. I’m sure you know the old saying, “the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and getting the same results.” That certainly was me at one time.

As my attempts at network marketing continued their ascent into the abyss, I blamed the programs themselves for my failings. I just assumed that they weren’t as attractive to others, as they were to me. I thought maybe I was the oddball for seeing value in the product or service.

Nothing changed in my attempts at success until my lightning-fast mind began to consider, maybe it wasn’t the programs after-all, but just maybe it was “me” that was the problem, and my lame strategies at attracting leads.

Let’s start at the beginning and discuss the nature of a network marketing business.

Many assume that because it is easy and very inexpensive to get into the network marketing business that they can just sign up with a NM program and the money will just come rolling in.

Now in fairness, whether it’s intentional or not, that’s how many of these network marketing programs tend to mislead people to believe. Let’s face it – and this is not an excuse to mislead people because I believe network marketers, for their own reputation, should be upfront with the statistics of potential success and failure, and by law they should be – but if network marketers were to give these statistics, their prospects of accumulating leads would drastically be reduced.

In the same token, as a network marketer, you want to keep you product or service reputable and not be looked at, as so many do today, as nothing more than a “pyramid scheme.” In some cases this label may fit, and you should certainly steer clear of those types of programs, where nothing of value is being offered. There is no product or service that one can get a benefit from.

These programs certainly only benefit, monetarily, those who establish the program. These programs quickly “peter out,” almost as quickly as they started because most people want something of value when forking over their hard-earned money. Plus the fact that pyramid schemes are unlawful.

However, network marketing is a very reputable and profitable industry if your product and/or service holds value in the eyes of the end consumer. The beauty of a good network marketing program is that consumers could benefit in a twofold manner. First, they can find benefit from purchasing the product or service, and then turn around and profit from it by establishing their own network marketing opportunity, utilizing the very same product or service – hence, multilevel marketing.

But, that’s not the end all. You can have the best product or service on the market; yet, fail in your bid in marketing it yourself. This is what happens to many in the “97 percenters” category of failed network marketing businesses.

With this post, I am beginning a series of articles aimed at the “97 percenters” and dissecting the reasons for their failure in growing a network marketing business. I mentioned earlier that I was, at one time in the not too distant past, a “97 percenter” myself. It wasn’t until I began to understand the nature of the business and that it has to be treated like any other reputable business opportunity, with knowledge of the industry and a developed skill-set to be successful.

For example, you wouldn’t open a restaurant without knowing how to cook, or at least, hiring someone who does. You can go online and copy a recipe and attempt at opening a restaurant with that, but you still need understanding on how to improvise, as a good cook will in order to develop his or her own unique flavor that sets them or her apart from the rest.

The same goes for a network marketing business. 97% fail because they just follow the same failed principles of those who preceded them. When you look up how to market a network marketing business, you will get the same failed examples of contacting (and ultimately alienating) friends and family and pushing yourself on them. Posting fliers on cars and local announcement boards in supermarkets or libraries, or wherever. These techniques just do not work.

What a network marketer needs to do is attract others to themselves, rather than chase people down, begging them to sign on. This is the key to network marketing. Once you know how to attract people to you, it is then when you will watch your business take off.

Now, don’t get me wrong, all those techniques above can help you develop your business, if handled properly and you use “out-of-the-box” ideas to attract attention to your product or service.

In my next article, I am going to begin to explain how to approach network marketing and why you need to educate yourself with a network marketing business, just as you would any other business opportunity. When you follow the principles that I will lay out here in these articles to follow, your chances of exiting the “97 percenter” category and joining the top 3% will grow exponentially.

Until next time, I wish you all the best of success in your Network Marketing endeavor.

One last thing – if you have struggled to develop your down-line in any network marketing endeavor, don’t give up! Believe me when I tell you, that there is a lot to learn in this business, just like there is in any business. If you’ve experienced failure to this point, that’s a good thing.

Yes, that’s right, I said, “It’s a good thing.” Look, many of the most successful entrepreneurs experienced failure many, many times before hitting it big. Why? Because with each failure comes experience and knowledge of what it is that didn’t work. If you analyze your failings and understand why your attempts failed, you will now have a clearer picture of what will work.

I’ll end with this quote of inspiration… “Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.” ~Author Unknown

Interview With a Network Marketing Master

Christopher Terry. By day, stocks trader. By night, network marketing genius. Because of his second “night” job, Terry will be resigning from his primary day job. The really amazing part of that is he will have done this within 5 short months of joining his network marketing company.

Within the network marketing company itself, Terry is a leader and a mentor. He does not abandon his downline members. He keeps us informed of company events and policies on an almost daily basis. He lets us know he is here to support us; as long as we are willing to do the work, he will do anything within his power to help us succeed. He is a network marketer’s dream upline sponsor.

How did he do it? What is his secret? I sat down with him to find out and share with you his ideas for success.

Denise: Thank you for granting me this interview, Chris.

Christopher: Thank you, Denise!

D: How long have you been working at your career as a stocks trader?

C: I have been a Stock and Futures trader since the mid 1990′s. I owned a construction business prior to that. I wanted to be able work and make money from home. Although I started trading in 1995, it was not until 1998 when I was able to walk away from my construction business and trade full time.

D: How successful were you at doing that?

C: I have done very well. I find it fascinating that I can create wealth from home. I love the fact that a person can take a relatively small amount of money and create a growing stream of income; however, it’s all based on your own efforts. For example, in my business if I don’t trade, I do not earn income. Also, trading takes years of dedication, time and effort to become successful; in other words, there is no such thing as an overnight success.

D: I understand you became a leader and motivational speaker in your industry. Share with me how you rose to that level.

C: I was actually in Amway for several years in the 1990s. I was fortunate to hit levels of success here in the United States in that company. I then went overseas as Amway opened up new markets, which gave me the opportunity to have an international business. I owe my “positive thinking” to that network marketing experience, since the leaders in Amway always recommended we read positive thinking books and listen to positive thinking tapes. At the time many considered it “brain washing.” Today it is called “Laws of Attraction.” So, l was into positive thinking and Laws of Attraction before it was a cool thing to do. That time period in my life gave me the foundation to grow both mentally and financially. I started a business outside of Amway, and then I went into the trading business.

D: What qualities do you see within you that helped you achieve success in your trading career?

C: I would have to say vision and foresight. I look at the future of what things can be, not as they are, and then I take action. I have always taken action, I am not afraid of whether that action turns out right or wrong. The worst thing to do is to have an idea and a plan but never actually do anything to put that plan into action. It is better to do something and fail than to never have done anything at all. I have always had a drive for success once I realized I have the power and the ability to become whomever and whatever I want. There is a four-letter word to success, and its spelled W-O-R-K; the reality is anything worthwhile takes work, trading and network marketing included!

D: Do you think those same qualities helped you build your network marketing business?

C: Those, and also reading positive thinking books and books on success, as well as overcoming my fear to speak to people. I was very shy growing up, so I learned to say “Hi” and start a conversation, to truly become interested in other people and what they had to say. I also am not afraid to work; if I had to dig ditches for a living, I would be the best ditch digger I could possibly be. I believe once you get your mindset right and you learn to ask the right questions, the game is 90% won, and success will be yours.

D: Tell me how you got involved in network marketing.

C: Interesting story! I was dating a girl and she was bragging about how her boss was making $5,000 a month in some business and that I should talk to him, so I did. He signed me up, and then my girlfriend, the very one who told me to speak to him, wanted me to quit because it was Amway! I told my sponsor that I had some problems and I had to quit. He told me, “Get rid of the problems.” So, I broke up with my girlfriend and built Amway, and as you already know, I became very successful in that business!

D: Were you familiar with network marketing before that?

C: No, I was not.

D: What were your thoughts and, perhaps, preconceived notions, about network marketing in general, prior to joining your first network marketing company?

C: I had no idea what it was, all I knew was I had to bring people in the business with me, sell some products and I would get rich. Unfortunately, though, it does not work that way!

D: Could you elaborate on that idea? Most of us are brought into this industry with that same notion, and we all eventually experience the same rude awakening that you just described, that it is not as easy as they make it sound. So please, for the people reading this who are not yet in network marketing and are considering it, as well as for those who have started and perhaps are failing, explain what you mean.

C: Well, of course you do not just get in and get rich, this is the most common misconception about network marketing. There are people who enter the business and think everybody they know will get in with them. Then there are people who come in saying they have this “one guy that if he gets in, he will make us all rich, he knows everybody!” and it is the furthest thing from the truth. This business is a numbers game. To be successful, you must expose people to the business every single day, to be consistently meeting new people and telling others about our dynamic opportunity. The more people you come in contact with, the more likely you will find people who want to become a part of your team and earn an income with you. This is true from day one; even though you may have a list of 100 or 500 people that you know, you still want to always be in the creative mode and working what I like to call the ABC’s – Always Be Contacting. You do not know where the next million dollar earner will come from.

The hardest thing for me is I cannot take the feelings inside my heart and mind that motivate me and give them to someone else, although I wish I could. The truth is, everybody has to find their own will, desire, and hunger to succeed; without them, they will end up like the rest, having some success, but not truly creating wealth. We all know or have heard the hard, cold fact that 98% of the people in this great country are broke and do not have a backup plan; if they lose their job or business, they will be 90-120 days away from poverty. People can blame it on the government, but the responsibility ultimately falls on each one of us. We should be proactive when we do not actually need to be and start our own home based businesses, which will get us out of that 98% and into the 2% income earners.

One final thought on this topic: I think the reason most people fail in the network marketing industry is that they treat it like a job and not like their own business. When you act as if it is just another job, you do the least amount of work possible for whatever pay you can get. These people want to work very few hours and get rich right away. Unfortunately, this does not happen in network marketing. Those who invest their time and effort into growing the business, even if there is no income at first, can see the vision of the future. At the beginning they will work 20 hours a day for zero pay, because they see that putting in 20 hours will pay the equivalent of 2,000 hours’ worth of work one day, and eventually zero hours will pay 10,000 hours. Fortunately, in our business the compensation for our work is amazing, but if you do not expand with people, you will not take advantage of the true income potential of network marketing.

D: Thorough and well said. I would like to add that when you said one should always be in the creative mode, in addition to working the ABC’s, I think the creativity part should apply to marketing your business. Be creative in your marketing efforts. Think outside of the box and create many different marketing campaigns. Utilize technology and the internet. The more you put yourself out there, the more you achieve exactly what you are saying, Chris, which is maximum exposure of the business to as many people as possible so you can increase your odds of signing up significant numbers new members into your downline. I do this on a daily basis myself, and I also make it a point to talk to people every day to make new contacts, as you have recommended.

Getting back to my questions, what were your first thoughts when you were introduced to the specific business we are in together?

C: I was actively looking for an online business to get into. I was not looking for network marketing/multi-level marketing, I was searching for an online business that was cutting edge and in which I could earn a residual income. When I saw this business it was in a cutting edge industry, doing business in 170 countries, it offered a strong income opportunity without having to sponsor people, yet by sponsoring people, it offered the ability to create wealth and long term residual income. They say to be successful you need a product that people want, need and can afford, that will be used over and over and is desired in the market place. I found it!

D: As we already know, this is not the only network marketing business you have ever been involved in. Were there any others besides Amway and ours?

C: I looked at a few others along the way, but I did not join any.

D: Why not?

C: Well, I am a high income earner in the trading world, both as a trader and an educator. I have been doing this for 17 years, and nothing really struck me as good enough for me to give it my full attention. I have seen MANY companies, products and services. When I saw the opportunity in the industry you and I are in together, I saw an industry that was young, dynamic, and that people loved. It has a place in the market because it meets people’s desires to find a bargain and/or make a deal. Also, it is VERY profitable, so I wanted to be a part of it. I got in first, and then I learned about it as I grew with it. I have not looked back. I have built an incredible team that’s growing in leaps and bounds. You are a part of that team, Denise, an amazing student and downline member.

D: Thank you, Chris! How do the other network marketing companies you’ve analyzed compare to the one you and I are in together?

C: They cannot compare.

D: Besides what you have already stated about our company when you actually found it, what made you think that this was the company to join?

C: I have no products to carry around, no juices or vitamins to purchase or sell, I did not have to sneak up on my family and friends, and I do not have to sell expensive products that I can buy in the store cheaper. We get paid to advertise. Period.

D: Now, I would like to share with our reading audience your own personal tips for network marketing success. Please tell me, what works for you?

C: Relationships are everything; your network is your net worth. I am always in the creative process and always opening doors to new people, saying hello and breaking the ice to get a conversation going. In network marketing, our job is to leverage time and money; without people on your team it becomes impossible. I would suggest genuinely becoming interested in others, going to events, whether it is a show or a business event, or any gathering where good quality people who you may want to work with will attend. I also suggest speaking to people who you would not normally speak to and might even make you feel a little uncomfortable; those are often your best prospects. We tend to feel heroic because we got the number of the drive-through window guy at Mc Donalds; meanwhile, we get false impressions of success when we see somebody dressed in a nice suit and tie and just assume they are already successful, so we say nothing to them because we think they’ve got it all already and don’t need a change in their lives. Both of these people may be your best prospect, or your worst, but you will never know unless you open up the door and say something to break the ice. With the “successful business man” (or so we assume) who we are often afraid to approach, you can start with something as simple as, “Hey, nice tie, where did you get it?” Then see where the conversation leads.

D: Is there anything that you’ve done that didn’t work so well?

C: Yes. As I’ve mentioned before, it takes years to become an “overnight success.” I have made, will make, and will continue to make mistakes. It is okay to fail; the more you fail the closer you will get to winning. Becoming immune to failing is the key to success. You may wonder why I say this. Well, if you have somebody who is not used to failing and thinks failing is bad, then when he/she hears “No” enough times, it damages his/her confidence, and that person is afraid to keep trying. However, if you are not afraid to fail, you will not let those “No’s” stop you. Instead, you will become more motivated to find the people who will say “YES” to your opportunity or presentation. Become a failure to become a success. This goes for ANY business!

D: What is the ONE business building idea you can share that you think is the MAIN reason you are where you are today, about to retire from trading, and about to embark on some major journeys in life, both literally and figuratively?

C: First, let me clarify something very important. The word “retire” is loosely used in the network marketing industry. I have been trading for 17 years and it is time for me to take a break. Do I think I will stay out of it for long period of time? No, it has always has been and will always be a passion of mine. I have built my name and reputation as a trader and educator, so I will most definitely return to the industry; however, I welcome a break in the action right now.

I love to help and give to others, so this is my current mission. There is nothing better than creating a profit in network marketing and helping others create wealth in the same fashion. Then, bringing my profession back into the mix, profiting on those profits as a trader too is a home run! However, I really do have the freedom to either work or not work; that is how large the income that I have created in our network marketing business is already. The MAIN reason I am where I am today is I will do whatever it takes; I will work 100 hours in a 24 hour day until I make it. As I said earlier, the main ingredient for me is that four-letter curse word, W O R K… and I have a LOW “IQ” (“I QUIT”) level!

D: Lastly, you are extremely jazzed about the network marketing company we are in together. What are the defining qualities of this company that makes it so good? Based on that, what should people look for in their own network marketing company or when deciding to actually join one?

C: Well, it seems lately I am sleeping no more than 3 hours per night! The energy of the team, of the company, and of the industry has taken the world by storm, and this keeps me “jazzed” as you say! I believe I had already mentioned earlier the reasons why I like our company, because there are no products to lug around and there is no trying to sell to friends and family a product or service they do not want. I have been approached by other network marketing companies that involve selling legal insurance, utility companies, juice companies, vitamin companies, weight loss companies, you name it! I have found that ours is so simple; our work is to advertise and it takes no more than two minutes per day. I am from the Amway world. I got my PhD in network marketing. In my opinion, the most ideal situation is the one that does not require a person to sponsor people to become successful, yet offers the opportunity to earn larger income because you do sponsor, train, and motivate others, and once you help them earn income, you earn additional bonuses. I come from a world where, when you help enough people get what you want, you in turn will get what you want. Everybody has their own version of what is best for them. Some may like a particular industry. My advice? Do your due diligence, figure out what you are passionate about, and run with it. That’s all.

I want to thank Mr. Terry for taking the time to answer these questions so thoughtfully and thoroughly.

On a side note, Christopher Terry is one of the most benevolent and philanthropic men I’ve ever met, and he does it without creating great publicity or accolades for his generosity. He believes very strongly in the idea that “it is in giving that you shall receive.” I am honored to know him and very glad we have gone into business together.

Great Guidance In Achieving Network Marketing Success

Tangible, in-demand products sell well in any economy, and this fact of business may have drawn you to the realm of network marketing. If it has, or even if you’re entertaining the idea for some other reason, you would do very well to educate yourself about the market before attempting to start your business. Read this article for some great MLM tips.

When you’ve completed your initial website, ask someone you know who knows nothing about network marketing to look at it. Have them use a critical eye when reviewing everything, and then find out if they would sign up through you if the website is all they had known about you.

When you set your network marketing goals, look at the big picture. Consider how your marketing will affect your business in the longer term. Take careful stock of how your current marketing strategies will influence your business in three to five years. If the picture is not what you have in mind, make appropriate changes now.

Avoid wasting your time. While working on the internet, it is very easy to become side-tracked. How many times have you found yourself reading everyone’s statuses on Facebook when your original plan was to post a quick update? Work with a schedule and make efforts to stay focused on your work.

In network marketing, when people ask a question, you should provide the information they’re looking for. If you keep an index of topical information, people will see your website as a resource and continue to return time and time again. Keep your content fresh, useful, and plentiful, and you’ll see a great rise in visitors.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. If you see other successful network marketers, ask them what they are doing to be so successful. Most networkers are not adverse to sharing their secrets, so long as long you are marketing a different product and won’t be honing in on their market share.

One way to get bigger pools of potential recruits for your network marketing efforts is to encourage recruits to start thinking in terms of “friends of friends.” If your recruit provides you with a potential recruit, ask them who that person knows who might be suited to the program. Exploring wider circles this way can exponentially expand your recruiting pool.

When you have a career doing network marketing, you need to make sure that you are spending your time wisely. Taking a lot of time to check your emails or Facebook is not really going to get you anywhere in terms of making more money. Make sure you know the sales of your company product, and how your sponsors are doing, then you can spend some time doing the things first mentioned.

A great tip that can help you become successful at network marketing is to devote a lot of time and effort to your customers. Try to make a connection with each and every one of your customers. A great way to do this is by checking up with them after they make a purchase.

Not everyone who joins your network marketing team will actually be a part of your downline. You can have what I call “horizontal hires”, people who you will pay for their services as they help you. The best way to use this is with a finders fee – a single payment that you set out when you make your agreement which they receive when finding someone who is interested in your offer.

Twitter

In order to succeed at network marketing you need to focus on income producing activities and make sure that you spend your work time wisely. When working on your computer, do not waste all of your time logged onto Facebook or checking emails. Spend the majority of your online work time marketing, sponsoring people and selling your company’s products.

A great tip that can help you become more successful at network marketing is to be aware of how much time you spend on social networking sites. Twitter and Facebook can be great resources when it comes to networking, but just make sure you aren’t wasting too much of your time on them.

Don’t stick with what you already know and think that will be enough. If you want to be a successful network marketer, you need to have many skills that will advance your career. Know how to use Facebook and Twitter to help market. Learn how to write a successful blog. Always try and learn something new.

Facebook

Use the power of social media sites in today’s world to help you with your network marketing business. Network marketing is a business of today, and today is revealed through the internet and media. The two biggest things in today’s world are Facebook and Google. Optimize your search results on Google, and market your business and products on Facebook.

When you are involved in network marketing, it can be very easy to lose track of time by maintaining your network instead of expanding it. You can find yourself checking e-mails, logging on Facebook, and other activities that can be considered work but do not necessarily improve your income. Be aware of this and make sure that you dedicate at least a few hours each day strictly to expanding your network or finding customers.

Don’t forget about social media when it comes to network marketing! Tweets get retweeted, and Facebook posts can be shared. Have your blog write on both sites when you post to your blog, and make sure to add other tidbits of information throughout the day to keep your followers interested. Link to articles that match the topic of your website, or mention positive achievements you’ve made recently.

How to Know the Best Network Marketing Company

Without any doubt if you are an advocate of financial freedom or a person open to new business opportunities, chances are you have heard about multi-level marketing (MLM), direct selling, or network marketing business opportunity and your problem is to know the best network marketing company to join as there’re varieties to choose from.

You may probably have an image firmly planted in your mind of what network marketing is, based on the seemingly endless debate over whether these companies and programs are legitimate business opportunities or not. You may have been in the industry for some time, shifting from one company to the other searching for the best company to join.

This article will give you the real scoop about network marketing and how to know the best company to join in MLM. I strongly believe that the entire industry is poised for explosive growth and can be one of the most significant solutions to any country’s youth unemployment crisis. The biggest problem in the industry is amateur networkers coming into the industry without proper training about network marketing and the leaders in the industry are not doing much to train the upcoming and aspiring network marketers.

Those who are in the industry are not willing to invest in their education to know the right way to do the business, that is why “The beauty of MLM is the low cost of entry and the bad thing in MLM, is also the low cost of entry. People fail to invest in their education once they join any MLM company and expect to be successful in the industry and once they are not getting the result they anticipated thy move to another company because the money they spent in joining the previous company is something they can forget without a fight.

If they spend a fortune to start it, they will do everything possible to make it work; they will invest in their education, give their time because the money involves cannot go down without them looking for ways to recover it. But in network marketing they expect more from the little investment and if they don’t see that in few weeks they will start screaming SCAM. One thing network marketing does is to expose you to your weaknesses and require you to address them through education or you quit. Many leave the company once that weaknesses showed up and label that company fake.

In every company business presentation the presenter will say they are the best and their distributors will go out to say the same to their prospects. I will not blame them for that as any company that puts money in your pocket is the best company to you. To be successful in any network marketing company require a renewal of your mind, you must have a positive mental attitude towards network marketing.

I cannot list a number of Good network marketing companies, below are some of the factors that make up a good network marketing company and it will help you choose wisely.

Check The Registration and Ranking Status: In the Network Marketing and Direct Sales industry there is an organization called the Direct Selling Association (DSA). There are thousands of Network Marketing Companies in the world, only about 200 or a few more of them are registered with DSA. The reason is because every member company must abide by high strict business ethics given by the organization which include on how they deal with their distributors. It does not mean that any other company that is not registered with them is not legit, but you will be on the safe side working with a company registered with them because they belong to a regulatory body that check-mate their excesses. For ranking check mlmrankings.com and businessforhome.org search on the company to know if they have been featured or rank on these sites. Check an honest review of the company through Goggle and YouTube to know what distributors and online network marketing coaches and writers have been saying about the company. I know there are companies out there with good intentions that are not registered with DSA, so explore every other means below to make your choice.

How old is the company in business?

You may hear terms like “ground floor company” or “start-up opportunity”. This entirely means the company is brand new. Statistics show that high percentage of new companies fail within their first five years because they are still in their formation stage. Every company started new and those that play the gamble of joining at the formation 5 years are the one reaping most of the dividend today therefore If you are OK with joining a new company in hopes that it will still be around after five years and you are one of the few that “got in early” then this should not be a problem for you.

Check the Integrity of the Management Team. If the company is relatively new and you want to go ahead with it, check the integrity of the management team, the experience of the CEO and the team in Network Marketing Industry, their backgrounds and reputations. How many years’ experience they have in the industry and have they been successful in other companies in the network marketing industry. Their experience will help them shape the company to last a very long time than a money bag that just want to take advantage of the industry to amass wealth.

If you can, talk to people that are currently involved with the company. Ask the person that is presenting the business opportunity to you if they can introduce you to other members, preferably members not in their team and listen to their stories about their real life experience with the company.

Check Their Products or Services: This is a business, and just like if you were running a franchise or a storefront you must take a franchise of a product you know you can sell easily. Find out the features and benefits of their products to see if it will meet the need of the people you want to introduce into the business and those that will be your customers, will they use it and need more of the products?

Examine the Compensation Plan. Compensation plans come in all shapes and sizes. Some are extremely complex to understand and others are very simple. You must know how fair and generous the overall distribution is. This is really important as the pay plan represents exactly how you’ll get paid–or not get paid. If you don’t understand the pay plan how are you supposed to know how much effort will be required for a certain level of pay?

Sincerely Compensation explanation is complex subjects that cannot be explain fully in this article, even when you are explaining a simple compensation plan, but you must know the basis before starting your own network marketing business.

There are five types of compensation plans used in Network Marketing industry, with many variations of each. There is probably no one plan that is perfect or right for everyone at every time. What may be the best plan for you today could change due to regulations, your experience in the industry and/or the type of product, even new technology. And, it’s those variations that can make the difference.

Let’s take a look at the 5 different types of plans in their most basis forms, they are…

Stair Step Break A Way {Board Breaking etc)
Uni-Level
Matrix
Australian
Binary

Most new aspiring network marketing business owners always ask, which of these network marketing compensation plans is best. There is no one sentence that fits the answer to this question. It depends a lot on your personality and what you want to achieve from your network marketing business. The thing to remember is that, apart from retail profit where applicable, a network marketing compensation plan pays you for a combination of product sales and sales management. So if you are more of a traditional salesperson who can move tons of products, it may be advisable to go with the company that pays more for product sales than for managing sales teams. If you really want to make it big in network marketing, study the compensation plan of any company before signing up.

Online Marketing: Make sure the company policy allows you to utilize the internet as a marketing tool and they must have system in place that will help you do that, such as your replicated website, online payment system, online product delivery system etc. People are utilizing the internet as their main marketing tool because of the automation on the internet that has allowed a much more consistent method of following up.

The only reason why some companies don’t accept online marketing is due to people who utilize it to spam and that can give a very bad reputation not only to the distributor, but also to the company you’re working with.

In conclusion, the best company in network marketing is the one that has a realistic pay plan, which is a compensation plan where the incentives given to members are achievable by the company through their product and services. You must also take notice of some of the points listed above to make your choices.
